The knowledge of the rheology and rheometry disciplines of building materials is in demand at the present time. The research of cement paste technology can offer to us important information concerning the structure of the paste and the interaction of individual components. The knowledge in the branch of cement paste rheology is also the basis for full understanding of fresh concrete mixtures behaviour. The rheological properties of cement suspensions depends on many factors – quantity and type of cement, shape, grain size composition and the size of particles, the water/cement ratio, type and quantity of additives and their interaction with cement, type and quantity of admixtures. The aim of experimental works described in this paper was the research of rheological properties of cement mortars modified by different doses of admixtures based on secondary raw materials and by super-plasticizing additives based on polycarboxylates. The in this way modified mortars are designed for the manufacture of High Performance Concrete, especially of Self Compacting Concrete.
