To solve a problem of power supply for structural health monitoring, we developed monitoring systems operated with power generation by vibration of a railway bridge. The greatest advantage of these monitoring systems is to reduce the initial cost of the system installation and the running cost for replacing batteries. In order to operate these monitoring systems by vibration power generation, we developed a technique to generate much power by vibration. Based on the technique, we installed the monitoring systems on the existing railway bridge, and confirmed their operation by vibration power generation.
