Armenia: Landlocked nation to the east of Turkey, the area was once part of the Ottoman Empire.
Armenians: Ethic group native to the area of Armenia.
Genocide: The calculated and methodical destruction of a national, religious, ethnic, or racial group.
Ottoman Empire: Islamic empire that included areas in modern Turkey, the Balkan peninsula, Middle East and North Africa. During WWI, the Ottoman Empire was part of the Central Powers along with Germany and Austria-Hungary.
