This chapter is a description of a useful variety of indicators in G20 countries, such as enrollment figures, teacher salaries, and test results by school subjects like reading, science, and math. We understand that such indicators vary over time within and between countries. We have excluded the international and comparative tables and figures as contemporary numbers fluctuate and quickly become dated, though they do often reveal trends. The indicators that are discussed are samples of the kind most often collected by scholars studying international education data and hence can be used to support related conceptual theories and more comprehensive analysis.
