4:30 am: My arm swings over to silence my alarm signaling the start of a new day. It’s Monday morning and as I turn off the alarm, I can’t help but wonder to myself, “Where has the weekend gone?” I left campus the previous Friday with goals to accomplish a mound of academic work over the weekend, only to be reminded this morning of how far I was from reaching those three day old goals. I quickly scurry up and reach for my bible on my lamp stand and have my daily devotion before I begin to prepare for my day. This sacred time reminds me to be thankful for the gift of life before embarking on the grueling day ahead of me.
