I am a junior lecturer at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. I started working in this position in 2012 and I currently teach English descriptive grammar and theoretical linguistics in our undergraduate program. I now have the privilege to do what I have been dreaming about since I was a little girl. I can teach and think about English, which has been a favorite pastime and the love of my life since I was 10. My education has almost always revolved around this language. I attended a special English class in high school, studied English literature and linguistics as an undergraduate student, and then became a student of English linguistics in one of the graduate programs of linguistics at the University of Debrecen. Now that I have defended my doctoral dissertation, thus putting an end to my graduate studies, I have been looking for opportunities for self-reflection and this chapter appears to be an appropriate venue for that.
