This article describes the evolution of the Teacher Work Sample instrument and implementation in one midsized teacher education program as an example of a fluid, viable model, responsive to student and faculty feedback that balances accountability with institutional control. Key revisions include:

(1) establishing a more responsive rating system; (2) modifying the prompts and rubrics to improve alignment and better reflect program emphasis; and (3) increasing faculty involvement.
