This chapter examines the ways faculty members can engage in community-centered participant evaluation projects to connect with and support diverse communities while also potentially addressing the internal requirements of working in a university. Using qualitative data gathered from interviews and focus groups, as well as observations, and reflections, this chapter provides insights into the struggle in balancing myriad needs—broader community needs, the needs of particular community organization, university needs, and the needs of individuals, to complete a project that supports marginalized and diverse communities. The chapter pays attention to the relationships, resources, and reciprocity needed when creating and implementing community-centered participation evaluation projects as a way to support marginalized communities.
