This chapter examines the use of Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) to develop awareness and understanding of diverse social identities in the context of higher education and at the University of Pittsburgh. The process of Inter-group Dialogue pedagogy encourages participants to discuss openly intergroup identities, social identities, and inequalities to deepen awareness and understanding of diversity in our current society. This chapter reports on the process of IGD, the challenges and benefits of IGD, and the implementation of IGD in higher education through a stakeholder analysis framework.
