CHAPTER 6: A Tale of Two Adult Educators

This is the story of two women born worlds apart. Carrie grew up and lives in the United States. Vicky was born and raised in the U.K. We met in 2007 at a conference at the Centre for Research on Lifelong Learning in Stirling, Scotland. There was an instant connection between us. We met at an evening event at the Stirling Castle and spent the pre-dinner reception talking about our interests in adult education. Our chance meeting at the castle led to a collaborative action research project, as well as a decade-long friendship. And, once again, we are collaborating on this chapter.
