The Socio-Economic Theory is a theoretical, empirical and operational contribution to the problem of change and organizational development. The key concepts and foundations of the Socio-Economic Approach to Management (SEAM) are presented in this chapter. Then, we summarize the essential implications of the Socio-Economic Approach to Management on strategic management practices, management control, sales and marketing strategy, human resource management, etc. Many chapters of this treatise explain in detail and with numerous concrete applications, how internal practices evolve in a company that has chosen the Socio-Economic Approach to Management, as well as their performance.
The Socio-Economic Approach to Management is a tool equipped thinking method. Indeed, the proposed itinerary is to move from the cult of the object, characterized by abstraction and disembodiment, to the accompaniment of the subject-person, which restores all its importance to the personalization of management and its elements. As a matter of fact, any idea appears as a simple ingredient of the action. It is when ideas lead to an action, a set of micro-decisions, that they produce a result or a performance. The implementation of ideas is therefore of the utmost importance for the management and performance of companies and organizations.
