The use of information technology of all types is transforming the various roles of human resource management (HRM) professionals. Over the past decade, organizations have developed and implemented information systems to simplify the use of vast amounts of HR data.
Greater use of technology has led to organizational use of human resource management information systems (HRMIS), which is an integrated system providing information used by HRM in decision making. The HRMIS terminology emphasizes that making HRM decisions, not just building databases, is the primary reason for compiling data in an information system. The use of HRM technology has grown rapidly in the past decade as “workforce technologies” are used to transform the way HRM delivers its activities.
