This chapter explores the research on developing economies and describes a unique model used in India for worker training. The model seeks to reduce poverty by encouraging and training those living in poverty to earn a living wage. The model involves developing strategic and sustainable links between governments, nongovernmental organizations, and not-for-profit organizations to work in concert to develop skills and work ethics in the lower socioeconomic levels of society. A case study of a group of organizations working together to reduce poverty in India illustrates how the model is being used.
