Chapter 14: Negotiating Complex Relationships in School-University Partnerships: Befuddled, Bewildered, and Even Bemused

In this chapter, findings from a collaborative self-study of teacher educators working within professional development school (PDS) or professional partnership site contexts are explored. The complexities and tensions involved in building and strengthening school-university partnerships and the navigation of and emphasis on relationship building are described. The role of liaisons and partnership building are considered as pivotal factors of inputs with a view toward cultivating high quality teachers.
