In 2008, a professional development program for teachers was approved by the University of Wyoming (UW). The 15 semester-hour Teachers of American Indian Children (TAIC) certificate brought to practical reality a century of accepted principles, best practices, and expert recommendations. It was created by American Indian graduate students and their UW professors. This chapter describes the origin, implementation, and effects of the TAIC. {/ABS}
