The fact of eliminating the statement’s data means that decisions have to be made and the situation has to be modeled. Qualitative analysis involves making an effort to seek which variables influence and to select the unknown. The teacher guides the initial discussion by coming up with a question such as the following:

The students, working with other students in their team and later as a consequence of interactions with the teacher and students from other teams, contribute arguments along the following line:
The hypotheses are what focus and guide resolution, indicating the parameters to take into account. It is the hypotheses and the whole body of knowledge that they are based on that will allow us to analyse the result and the whole process.
