This chapter provides one example of a professional development school (PDS) partnership and the process used to design and restructure the way preservice teachers are prepared to ensure that all students can have the effective teachers they deserve. More specifically, the focus is the story of change within a PDS partnership to respond to local, state, and national challenges to more authentically define and assess what effective teachers should know and be able to do.
