Preamble 12: “Keep Radiantly Well”

I clearly recall a student teacher, years ago, that I was supervising in a high school chemistry class. This guy was a chemical engineer, and had the students, however briefly, in the palm of his hand. Also in his open palm, the Periodic Table gracefully held open for all to see. We all were leaning in to this gathering of light cast on us. As his lesson continued, the classroom teacher, seated beside me at the back of the room, interrupted on more than one occasion, brusquely marching to the front, saying “excuse me,” taking the chalk and circling something on the board, and declaring, with a great desire to help, “Now that’s on the test.
