Postscript

The research carried out in this text was collected over a period of years and during that time there have been some interesting developments with the teachers involved in this compilation and synthesis of research. Mr. Smith, despite repeated invitations to work together to facilitate the development of his practice with regard for the difficult situation he faced, chose to continue his approach that he had developed over the years. He often claimed that no matter what he did the students would not achieve, yet he never really worked to change his approach and consequently had similar struggles throughout his time in the classroom. Thus, repeating a cycle of anger alienation for both him and his students. Mr. Smith has just recently retired after 25 plus years in the classroom.
