Winfred Arthur Jr., PhD, is a full professor of psychology and management at Texas A&M University. He is a Fellow of SIOP, the Association of Psychological Science, and the American Psychological Association. His research interests are in human performance; training development, design, implementation, and evaluation; team selection and training; acquisition and retention of complex skills; testing, selection, and validation; models of job performance; personnel psychology; and meta-analysis. He received his PhD in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Akron in 1988.
Larissa K. Barber, PhD, received her degree in industrial/organizational psychology with a minor in research methodology from Saint Louis University. She is an assistant professor in the social and industrial/organizational psychology PhD program at Northern Illinois University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial-organizational psychology, personnel psychology, and occupational health psychology. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Stress and Health, Journal of Personality Research, Personality and Individual Differences, and Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being. She conducts research in the areas of work-life balance and flexible work arrangements, sleep and stress, self-control/self-management, work engagement and burnout, counterproductive work behaviors, and emotion regulation at work. She also provides consultation for numerous organizations in the areas of quantitative data analysis, organizational assessment, and occupational health education.
