Educational equity and the goal to enhance access and participation of all students continue to be of paramount importance in eliminating exclusionary practices in education. Gorski and Swalwell (2015) argue that curriculum frameworks that considers student experiences create a more equitable school. Therefore, the cultural and social dimensions in our learning communities cannot be ignored. For all to be equally valued, there should be an obligation to address issues of inclusion and themes common to the experience of diversity. As teacher educators seek ways to better incorporate classroom ideas and approaches that explore observations and evaluation of others, there is also a need to be critical about the avenues used to encourage these dialogues.
