First page of Socio-Economic Management Consulting in America
A Diffusion of Innovation Study

I was noting questions from the earlier session that were so uniquely American that our French colleagues probably wonder why people ask these things. But, we do see things differently. We see socio-economic management differently. To get an idea of how the diffusion of SEAM might progress in America, we took a look at how it progressed in Mexico, which is currently the best case outside of France, outside of Europe, in which SEAM has actually taken root. We used the classic diffusion model of Everett Rogers and, for the Organization Development (OD) students in the room, this is a great example of how one researcher’s ideas inform the next generation, how ideas spread, and how knowledge transfuses or progresses through a social system.
