Biographies

Richard T. Boon, PhD, is a Professor of Special Education in the Department of Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching, College of Education and Human Development, at The University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a two-time Fulbright Specialist recipient and taught at the University of Malaya, Malaysia and Tallinn University, Estonia. His areas of research focus on literacy, academic and behavioral interventions, mild disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities), emergent bilinguals with disabilities, inclusive education, and international special education. Dr. Boon is currently an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Special Education, and previously served as the Associate Editor of Reading & Writing Quarterly: Overcoming Learning Difficulties, Co-Editor of Learning Disabilities: A Contemporary Journal, and Editor-in-Chief of Learning Disabilities: A Multi-disciplinary Journal.
