It is a pleasure to introduce the moderator of our panel, Ted Sanders. He has been the chief state school officer in three states: Nevada, Illinois, and Ohio. He has been a university president at Southern Illinois University. He has been the president of the Education Commission of the States (ECS). He has been the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. He has been the acting secretary at the U.S. Department of Education. And yes, he has been a classroom teacher, too.
He is a frequent presenter at our national education conference, but here is something that you may not know about him. He not only attends and presents at our conference, but you will see Ted Sanders sitting in the audience at all the sessions throughout our conference each year. It’s obvious to me that he’s not only a lifelong leader, he is a lifelong learner. He’s going to be introducing us to the panel, but first I would like all of you to welcome our moderator, Ted Sanders.
