Leaders within healthcare organizations acknowledge that workplace cultures are challenged every day because of the complexity of healthcare systems. Healthcare workplace culture has gained attention over the past decade as it represents the character and personality of the organization driven through behaviors and learned interactions of employees. Culture is shaped by the interactions of all employees from front line staff to executives. Culture is essential to team engagement, which is vital to the patient experience. These behaviors and interactions impact team dynamics, care outcomes, operational cost (retention; efficiency/effective-ness of work) and innovations in system care practices.
