Chapter 16: Concluding Thoughts

Our primary goal at the onset of this project was to provide a text to middle level teacher educators and middle level schools that would be a helpful resource to those advocating for and engaging in clinically based middle level teacher preparation. We recognized that other texts on this topic existed, but we knew middle level teacher educators and middle level schools desired a resource that attended to both the unique needs of teachers of young adolescents and the current culture and climate of middle grades schools. The result is this text. Within its pages our authors have vividly painted inspiring pictures of the ways we can engage in partnership work that is supportive, powerful, and transformative. They have provided sincere encouragement, sage advice, and clear direction to either begin this work or continue the journey.
