The quest for peace is not a dream; it can be obtained through a transformation in our understanding of what peace is as defined through new peace educational practices. This includes an appreciation of peace education within military training. In this chapter, we offer two perspectives on peace education: One from a military perspective, the other a healing arts perspective. In each perspective, the choice is to experience harmony instead of conflict, peace instead of war, and love instead of fear. Our goal is to promote the mindset that prevents and ends war and that creates lasting peace. We will also discuss the use of transformative peacebuilding teaching practices. These practices can lead to a broader acceptance of peace education by seeing the similarities instead of accentuating the differences among students. All students are seen as having the same potential of becoming positive agents for change for a peaceful world.
