It is no secret that work is a significant source of stress (Jex & Britt, 2008). Both employers and employees have certain goals they must meet in order to earn the financial compensation on which they depend. In addition to the stress that arises from the task of producing a valuable good or service, undesirable conditions may frustrate the worker’s efforts to be productive. Further challenges include negative interpersonal interactions and uncertainty about the stability of one’s job. Fortunately, individuals bring a number of resources to bear when dealing with such stress; for many, religion and spirituality are especially salient in the coping process.
