The world is changing. This statement has always been true, yet the sense is that our experience with change is fundamentally different today than it ever has been in the past (Bloch, 2005; Bright & Pryor, 2005). This difference is most often attributed to two factors: the pace of change and global interconnectivity. Currently we are living in the midst of the technology revolution which is often demarked by the advent of the computer and its impact on other technologies. This day-to-day presence of technology is the primary driver of both our increased sense of the pace by which change impacts our lives and connection to those a world away (Friedman, 2005; Pink, 2005).
