Talent management has become one of the most important, yet one of the most difficult tasks an organization faces. Developing an effective employee selection process is critical to ensure your company is able to hire the best talent available with the right skill set. Hiring and retaining the right people can make a huge difference in your organization’s competitiveness and ultimate level of success. Using technology in the selection process can lead to significant improvements in time to fill vacancies, increased metrics, decreased cost, and so on. If done incorrectly, however, it can also lead to an organization’s downfall. The following chapter explores some of the latest technological advances and how they have been used throughout human resource management (HRM) processes, citing their advantages as well as their potential legal pitfalls.
