Victor paced back and forth in front of the room while his fellow students, teachers, and administrators filed in. Smiling, he said, “I never could have done this back when I first got here. I’m so much different now.”
The lights were dimmed and his presentation appeared on the screen behind him. He stood tall, took a deep breath, and began.
“Hi everyone. I’m Victor and this is my Presentation of Personal Growth.” His first slide flashed up on the screen—a montage of photos, happy people posing arm-in-arm. “This is my family, my brothers, sister, nieces, nephews. We take care of each other. They are the ones supporting me now.”
