The advance of newer and better technologies requires that we look to advance their use to align with student needs of the future. The use of voice recording as a tool in problem-based learning (PBL) caters to immediacy as well as the lifestyle of today’s learners who spend great amounts of time using technology utilizing it in a form Brown (2000) describes simply as multiprocessing. Students of higher education are faced by technologybased pedagogy in their daily coursework. Course-generated scenarios that require the ability to create digital audio artifacts for an assignment seem a fitting way for higher education instructors to prompt learning using technology. Learning will occur beyond just the course materials; PBL tasks involving audio recording will teach and enable students to communicate fluently in media that can compliment or even replace text. Problem-based learning strategy that utilizes audio recording lends itself well to universitylevel courses across the spectrum of curricula, from humanities to business education.
