First page of Educational Possibilities for Honduras

The question of how to best educate the Honduran people is one I have struggled with as a teacher, teacher educator, and international student. It is a struggle that I anticipate will be lifelong. My personal struggle and the struggles of the Honduran people are tied to historical and current struggles in Honduras and globally, in other developing countries also experiencing poverty and educational inequality. This project focuses on one grassroots community school, Esperanza School, in Honduras. My main objective is to provide a description of the Honduran educational system, the grassroots community school movement in Honduras, and an in-depth analysis and description of the Esperanza School and the experiences of the people involved with this grassroots community school. The goal of this project is to explore possibilities for grassroots community schools in Honduras through an examination of Esperanza School.
