Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) faculty in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education (TL&TE) in the College of Education and Human Sciences, University of Nebraska-Lincoln collaborated to design and implement courses that form the core of a new EdD program. This revised program was driven by a commitment to placing practitioner knowledge at the center of teacher education by rethinking the specifics of policies and practices shaping the design and implementation of the program in the department. As a group, faculty had in mind the goal, among others, of engaging practicing educators in research as a means of enhancing understanding of possibilities for professional development through reflection upon practices in their education work settings.
