Michael Beyerlein is a professor in the Human Resource Development Graduate Program at Texas A&M University. Formerly, he was a professor and department head of organizational leadership and supervision at Purdue, and prior to that the founding director of the Center for Collaborative Organizations and professor of industrial/organizational psychology at the University of North Texas. His books, book chapters, and articles usually address the topics of teams and collaboration, creativity and innovation, knowledge management, and intangible capital. His research interests include team creativity and innovation science. His most recent edited book is The Handbook for High Performance Virtual Teams (2008) written with Jill Nemiro and others. He served as senior editor of the annual book series Advances in Interdisciplinary Studies of Work Teams, the book series Collaborative Work Systems, and the journal Team Performance Management. His project funding has come from the NSF, several additional government agencies, and companies such as Boeing, Shell, NCH, AMD, Intel, Raytheon, First American Financial, Westinghouse, and Xerox.
