Revenues in support of Nevada’s public K–12 schools for Fiscal Year 2014 were approximately $4.3 billion. This represented a decrease of 2.4% from FY 2009 when revenues totaled $4.5 billion, which was the highest amount over the last ten years. However, compared to FY 2005 revenues of $3.39 billion, school funding increased 28% from FY 2005–2014.

Financial support for Nevada’s public schools is a shared responsibility. The local share in FY 2014 totaled 54.8% ($2.4 billion), while state revenue reached 35.9% ($1.6 billion). Federal revenue totaled 9.3% ($0.4 billion) in that same year, an amount slightly above the national average of 8.7%.
