First page of Applications to Inclusive College Classrooms

The following scenarios have been developed based on real college classrooms and the efforts of real inclusive college instructors. They are provided for the purpose of demonstrating the application of the various instructional techniques described in this text. In reviewing these scenarios, the authors suggest that readers ask themselves the following:

Dr. Jeffers looked over the class list for his Introduction to Psychology class. This was his second year of teaching at Green Acres Community College. This semester’s class had 73 students in it, approximately 54% were female and 46% were males. He sighed just a little. So many of his students do not want to take the class, but are required to by their programs. This meant to him that they were reluctant students.
