As instruction and learning gain new dimensions in today’s world due to the proliferation of information and communication technologies (ICTs), education becomes independent of time and space. Learners and instructors can utilize new modes of learning and communication due to the prolifera, tion of ICTs that are mostly used for knowledge delivery, management of the learning process and communication between learners and their peers.
The open-source software Moodle is one of these new modes of learning and communication that supports a full range of teaching and learning activities conducted by educational institutions. It facilitates online content creation and collaboration by entailing various social and communication tools that support teacher–student, student–student, and teacher–teacher interactions. Therefore, Moodle is often seen as contributing to the schools’ mandates for the delivery of high-quality education through the provision of a complete set of tools.
