This chapter discusses the efforts of one school/university partnership in meeting the holistic needs of students in an urban public school district using a combination of the professional cevelopment school model and the community schools strategy in addressing those needs. Using GEER grant funds, this partnership targeted interventions to boost virtual attendance; improve student learning outcomes; support teacher candidates and new teachers in working with at-risk students; engage trusted community members to partner with parents and caregivers; and provide instructional resources for the school community to support effective remote learning initiatives. Outcomes and lessons learned are shared.
