This study explores the idea of PDS as an appropriate setting for conducting student learning objective (SLO) cycle inquiry projects as a means to evaluate teacher candidate effectiveness. Teacher candidates worked with their cooperating teachers and university faculty in designing and implementing SLO cycle inquiry projects using best practices learned in their PDS classrooms to improve student learning during one of their two student teaching placements. Qualitative comparisons were made between those in their PDS student teaching placement and those in alternative settings.
