(Dawa) Food. There are some similarities with other Asian cuisine. But Bhutan cuisine is unique. We use a lot of cheese with vegetables, meat, and rice. No where in South Asia is cheese mixed with everything.
(Diki) Family values and relationships. Hospitality. You always want to strike up a conversation with strangers.
We still live in very extended families. We take care of our elders, even after the grandchildren have grown up.
We open up to outsiders, to visitors.
People are becoming more conscious of money, space and so there will be more of a nuclear family pattern, especially in the town.
