We are all impacted by events. The psychological and physical impact of an event may vary from person to person, and it may influence how we interact with others and the environment. The way an individual experiences the event may have a long-lasting traumatic impact on their well-being. Therefore, educators must acknowledge and understand that trauma can impact any and everyone in the classroom, including the teacher. Two educators from an Institute of Higher Education (IHE) in a teacher preparation program team up with Tracey who is a site-based teacher leader from a school in the surrounding district to share how their collaboration is impacting both teachers’ and students’ knowledge of trauma informed pedagogy (TIP).
