Chapter 12: Basic Procedures in Writing Scientific Research Articles

Writing and publishing journal articles are vital facets to succeed in a scientific profession. Regrettably, several scientists become aware of the procedure of sharing their work threatening and perplexing. It is important that they learn how to write and publish a scientific paper through a transparent emphasis, good organization, and basic, up-front language to write their research as well as write effectually in most other scientifically associated submissions (Gastel & Day, 2022).

Scientific research articles offer scientists the opportunity to share with their peers the results of their research. They usually employ an established coherent format in writing these articles, although this order differs from the way the scientific experiment was conducted (Columbia University, n.d.). A scientific experiment may have remarkable outcomes, but it is incomplete until the results are published. The basis of the philosophy of science is founded on the central supposition that original research needs to be published to validate new scientific knowledge that can then be entered to the prevailing database that is referred to as scientific knowledge. Gastel and Day (2022)use the examples that plumbers do not need to write about pipes or lawyers to write about cases (except brief writing), but research scientists are in a unique position. They need to write a report to describe what they did, the reason it was controlled, and the new knowledge as a result.
