Israel, a small country with just over seven million people, has considered education essential for its existence and prosperity since the nation’s establishment in 1948. For Israel, education is a means of securing the country’s future as an intellectually and socially advanced nation, and the country sees its current ICT provision in schools as one of its major educational assets. Israel has a high ranking (.70) on the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Digital Access Index (DAI) and is placed in the highest of four digital access categories. The Israeli hi-tech industry is a prosperous one, known and acknowledged beyond Israeli borders.
