South Asia, with the largest workforce in the world, has started leading the way in the transformation of labour markets owing to the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). The region's enormous youth population and glaring skill gaps, however, present serious issues that need intentional measures to match workforce capacities with the changing labour market. The influence of AI adoption on employment across a range of skill levels in South Asian countries is examined in this study. Using correlational analysis, it looks at patterns in the relationship between AI preparedness and employment in different skill-level occupations. The study draws attention to differences in workforce adaptation and the difficulties associated with changes in the labour market such as the possibility of employment polarization and widening gaps. The report also looks at how AI could encourage regional economic growth and highlights the necessity for reskilling programmes to deal with labour shifts brought on by AI adoption. The results highlight the significance of human resource investments, customized regulations, and regional collaboration in reducing workforce disruptions and utilizing AI's potential. In the AI-driven era, this research offers useful insights to support South Asian nations in achieving equitable growth and socioeconomic advancement.
