By creating a digitalized copy of physical assets, businesses can also analyze performance with increased accuracy to utilize extrapolative maintenance, become more efficient, and make smarter decisions. The integrated performance management enabled by artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing demonstrates how digital twin (DT) proliferation is an essential indication that we are entering a new era for improved performance. The need for real-time predictive analyses is more vital than ever, and DT technology is at the forefront of meeting this need. Albeit its transformative possibilities, there is limited evidence from published academic literature of DT technologies having been incorporated into 360-degree performance management frameworks in practice. This chapter explores the potential of DTs with performance management systems within the human resource management (HRM) domain, adapting them to the ever-increasing need to leverage technology in the field of human management. Integrating DT within the performance management component will not only deliver immediate operational improvements but also have the potential for long-term gains such as increased digital resilience, resource optimization, and better stakeholder satisfaction. This chapter used a mixed-methods approach to gather qualitative research with a quantitative survey of 186 workers across different sectors understanding the integration of performance management with DT technology. Our findings point toward a comprehensive engagement with evaluation metrics with different sectors focusing on different dimensions of performance evaluation, thereby suggesting a strong culture of continuous improvement and self-assessment in performance management. This study examines how DT technology can make dynamic and flexible plans for staff growth in an organization.
