Digital governance has become an essential component in modern governance frameworks to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency across public, corporate, and global sectors. The integration of advanced digital tools like blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data analytics offers innovative approaches for environmental, social, and governance (ESG)-driven governance. These technologies play a crucial role in automating regulatory compliance and ensuring sustainable governance practices. However, challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, ethical risks, and fragmented regulatory frameworks limit adoption, especially in developing economies with weak governance capacity. Despite these barriers, digital governance innovations hold significant potential to drive economic, social, and environmental transformation, particularly in regions undergoing rapid digitalization and increased reliance on technology-driven governance. This study examines the role, applications, and implications of digital governance within ESG, providing a comprehensive understanding of how emerging technologies can enhance accountability while addressing associated challenges. By bridging existing research gaps, this document aims to encourage further exploration of digital governance’s impact on sustainability, regulatory compliance, and ethical governance practices.
