Abstract
The escalating environmental concerns are garnering the attention of corporate stakeholders because of the increasing unsustainable practices and competitiveness after the COVID-19 pandemic. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) performance of a corporation assesses both its economic outcomes and its impact on sustainable development; yet, this is often overlooked in several enterprises inside emerging nations. Therefore, this chapter investigates the effect of green supply chain management (GSCM) on the AI performance of selected and listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria the most populous and largest consumer market in Africa. The study adopted a survey research design, with a population from listed manufacturing companies. The study concluded that GSCM significantly affects the AI performance of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria. To improve sustainability performance, in particular green AI performance, the study recommends that the management of Nigerian manufacturing businesses should consider more technological adoption in their business process and also consider environmental issues during product creation, distribution, storage, disposal and end-of-product life cycle management.
