Abstract
Empiric system theory offers a unified approach to understanding culture and leadership by integrating subjective and objective aspects. It emphasizes the contextual nature of agency, viewing participants in interaction not as isolated entities but as dynamically engaged actors. Mutual understanding is crucial for effective communication, leading to productive teamwork and successful leadership. The negotiation of signals and their implementation shape both organizational culture and leadership effectiveness, ensuring alignment between top-down and bottom-up processes. To enhance communication quality, both explicit and implicit information flows must be analyzed through qualitative research, incorporating employees’ and customers’ experiences and motivations. Simultaneously, the broader semantic functioning of the system must be assessed to ensure meaning convergence. Beyond passive observation, active individual agency is essential. Structured, playful team interactions foster awareness, adaptive implementation, and alignment across hierarchical and departmental divides. This approach promotes systemic homogeneity in goals, tools, and self-efficacy, ultimately enhancing workplace cohesion. Details of this method are explored in the following chapters.
