This chapter investigates how social media can support improving sustainability practices in Sri Lankan small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This chapter employs the systematic literature review (SLR) methodology. The researcher used keywords to explore the articles from recognized databases for the literature review. Accordingly, 40 articles from different databases were used for the analysis. This chapter explores seven critical themes for social media support of sustainability practices in Sri Lankan SMEs: sustainable supply chain management, sustainability communication, building sustainable relationships through social media-driven customer relationship management (CRM), crowdsourcing ideas and solutions, marketing and brand building and enhancing operations performance. This SLR significantly contributes to understanding how social media can enhance sustainable practices in SMEs. It effectively bridges the knowledge gap at the intersection of social media and sustainability within SMEs. The key findings from this chapter offer significant insights for SMEs, scholars, practitioners and policymakers, aiding better decisions on using social media to foster a sustainable future. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this research represents a substantial contribution to the existing literature on leveraging social media to enhance sustainability practices within Sri Lankan SMEs.
